Ruth was always memorable and I was truly in awe of her beauty as a person, her history, taste and sense of the world.  In a way she was also intimidating because she remained current in a very complicated world and i don’t think you could pull one over on her.  You had to be on your game in order to go deep with Ruth.  She kept everyone on their toes.  I will always hold her in the highest regard number one for being Celia’s mother and number two for the work at KCRW which I have pretty much listened to every day of my adult life living in southern California.

The best radio station ever.  Period.  She will be missed and loved eternally.
