Eldad Tarmu

Family Friend

My memories of Ruth are literally among the first things I can recall. I had the good fortune to be the son of parents that were very close to Jack and Ruth throughout the first dozen years of my life. What I remember mostly are impressions. I remember roof-raising political arguments; warm loving hugs; pleas to my parents to discipline their out of control son (me), and I remember her always being so sincerely curious about what I was doing in my little kid life.

The sound of Ruth's focused, street-wise voice was forever inserted into my mind as the sound of an accomplished, sophisticated, loving woman. I was so lucky to be exposed to a person of her soul and stature so early.
